• Educators Dive into New PA STEELS Standards to Shape Plan for Future of Science Education

    On January 30, 2024, a committee of 24 teachers and district administrators gathered for a day-long session focused on the state’s recently adopted Science, Technology & Engineering, Environmental Literacy and Sustainability (STEELS) Standards. These standards are designed for implementation beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. However, our team of educators are preparing now to ensure our students have the very best outcomes. This committee will continue to meet regularly as part of the science curriculum review team. The morning session was led by Stephanie Schwab, the MCIU’s S.T.E.M. Administrator. For the afternoon session, the Curriculum Office will engage the group in examining the new standards and preparing to explore resources to support the curriculum.
