Eagleville, PA – On September 15, 2023, Methacton School District hosted a POW/MIA Flag Raising Ceremony at Skyview Upper Elementary School. Dr. Zerbe, Superintendent of Schools, led the program and Methacton High School senior, Megan Wertz, performed a stunning rendition of the National Anthem. The POW/MIA flag is a symbol that holds profound meaning for our nation, our military, and our fellow citizens. The POW/MIA flag flown for today’s ceremony was one of seven provided to the Methacton School District thanks to a generous donation from the Office of Pennsylvania State Representative Joe Webster. The flags will be flown proudly at each of our seven schools. The ceremony served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who served in our armed forces and who, while serving our country, became prisoners of war or remain missing in action. In addition to Rep. Webster and members of his office, other distinguished guests of the ceremony included PA State Representative Matt Bradford, PA State Senator Maria Collet, PA State Senator Katie Muth, the Honorable Judge Cathleen Kelly-Rebar, Lower Providence Township Police, Skyview students and staff, Arcola staff, and district administration. The third Friday of September is nationally recognized as POW/MIA Remembrance Day.
