MHS Students Shine in Academic Decathlon

Congratulations to the Methacton High School Academic Decathlon team for earning 37 individual medals and 2 overall medals in the 41st Annual Academic Decathlon Eastern Regional Championship on February 1, 2025. The team's impressive showing earned them a place in the PA State Championship in March.

The Academic Decathlon tests students on more than 900 pages of resources and a full novel with much of the content centered around this year's theme, "Our Changing Climate."  The students compete in 7 multiple choice tests on topics ranging from math to music, and 3 subjective events which include an interview, an essay, and a speech.

The overall medalists from Methacton were 11th grader Kaitlyn McKenna who earned a gold medal in the "Varsity" division, and 9th grader Jeffrey Fan who earned bronze in the "Honors" division.
