Arcola Hosts STEAM Career Day
Arcola Intermediate School’s hosted its annual STEAM Career Day featuring careers in science, technology, engineering, and math – with an additional focus on careers involving the arts and how they support STEM fields.
The day started with a keynote address by Paleontologist Cary Woodruff, who acted as scientific advisor for the film Jurrasic World. Woodruff is an adjunct instructor of Paleontology in the Dept. of Earth Sciences at Montana State University. He spoke about his passion for paleontology, while sharing insight into how exciting careers in STEM fields can be.More than 50 other presenters from local employers and schools spoke to students about careers in a variety of fields including data analysis, technology, engineering, medicine, robotics, law enforcement, healthcare, and environmental research through presentations and hands on activities.
