Amy K. Mangano, Principal

  • My name is Amy K. Mangano and I am extremely honored to join the Arcola team as the new Principal. I am very passionate about children and providing them with experiences and opportunities intellectually, socially, and emotionally. As the parent of two adolescent boys, ages 11 and 13, I fully recognize the importance of a strong home and school connection. Parents play a pivotal role and by working together we can effectively meet the needs of all children.

Before joining the Methacton School District, I served in several educational leadership roles over the past 21 years. For the past 10 years, I was principal of the Upper Elementary School in the New Hope-Solebury School District. Prior to that, I worked in the Wissahickon School District as the Middle School Assistant Principal, the K-12 Supervisor of Guidance Services, and an elementary counselor.

My academic background includes a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Gwynedd Mercy University, a Bachelor of Arts in English from Providence College, and Pennsylvania certification in the areas of K-12 Counseling, Elementary Principal, K-12 Guidance Supervision and a Superintendent Letter of Eligibility. In addition, I am enrolled in the doctoral program at Gwynedd Mercy University and serve as an adjunct faculty instructor in the Counseling and Master Teacher Programs.

My goal is to get to know you, your child, and the Arcola community in the Methacton School District. It is a privilege to work with such a talented staff, all of whom are dedicated to providing the highest quality of education in a safe and supportive environment. This is such an important and critical time of transition - moving from elementary and preparing for the bigger challenge of high school. What happens in these next two years will have a lasting impression on our children’s development and growth. Please join me in this journey as we work together to help shape the lives of our children.

I am very much looking forward to an exciting year of learning and growing with our students, parents, and staff. Stay tuned for my next newsletter where you will find information, event notices, and other useful information.

Please feel free to reach out to me at any time.
