    Dear Parents/Guardians,

Hello! My name is Ms. Ruth Salgueiro, and I am very happy to have your child in my eight grade Spanish class this year. I’d like to begin by telling you a bit about myself. I graduated from West Chester University in 2012 with a degree in Education as a Spanish teacher, Honor Student, Magna Cum Laude. Since graduation I have spent most of my time as a Spanish Teacher at the West Chester Friends School, where I designed the Spanish program for students from K – 5th grade. I have also worked for the Conestoga HS Tredyffrin School District and the Downingtown School District. I am so excited to have joined Methacton School District. I absolutely love teaching and I can’t wait to start the year with your child.

We have a great year ahead of us. We will be learning a lot, and of course having lots of fun along the way. Eight grade Spanish is an exciting year filled with new independence and increasing multilingual abilities. It is a year where Spanish is introduced as a second language. Yet the students are beginning to read, write and have conversations in Spanish.

I strongly believe that parental involvement is extremely important to be successful in the classroom. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this letter. I look forward to getting to know you and working with you throughout the year. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at RSalgueiro@methacton.org

    Sincerely,

    Ruth M. Salgueiro
