The Methacton Educational Technology Standards (METS) provide an opportunity for all students to have regular use of technology to develop skills that encourage personal productivity, creativity, critical thinking and collaboration that starts in the classroom and infuses into their daily lives.  The skills implemented by the METS start at kindergarten and are reinforced over multiple grade levels in order to achieve mastery.  The METS have been developed by Methacton staff, over a period of time, to create a living document that will be reviewed annually.
The METS are not stand-alone standards; they are incorporated in all subject areas and driven by the curriculum.  The METS will help guide future district decisions for technology acquisitions and initiatives. Although the METS currently focus on grades K-8, our plan is to evolve and expand the standards to encompass grades 9-12 in the coming years.
