Welcome to Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
This office serves the students, staff, and the community of the Methacton School District in providing advocacy, oversight, and focus on matters of equity, diversity, and inclusion. This page will be updated regularly to archive the progress achieved over time.
Dr. Zerbe presented the proposed structure of the Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion at the February 15, 2022 Work Session Meeting of the Board. The structure includes the District Title IX Coordinator, a K-12 DEI and Climate Counselor and 7 building advisors. Together they will provide student, staff and program support; promote positive school culture and diverse, equitable, and inclusive practices; and provide accountability through reporting, documentation, and communication for continual improvement.
The Board of School Directors approved the K-12 DEI and Climate Counselor job description in February 2022 and the administration posted the job here. With the intent of filling the K-12 DEI and Climate Counselor position and onboarding in May/June 2022. Once on board, the administration will work with counselor to develop the advisor post and seek interest from within our staff. In closing, the work of the district DEI committee will be incorporated into the district’s strategic plan to be released in May 2022.
Please direct any questions to the Office of the Superintendent. For matters of discrimination or otherwise concern, student matters should be reported to the building Principal and staff matters to the district’s Human Resources department.
