Notification Information - School Closings, Delays, Early Dismissals
The Methacton School District utilizes the SchoolMessenger system of emergency notification in the event of a weather-related school schedule change. In the event of a school closing, early dismissal or late arrival, you will be notified via the primary phone number the district has in the PowerSchool student information system. Please check that your contact information is correct within the Parent Portal, and contact your building secretary to update it if necessary.PLEASE NOTE: In the event that you do not receive a phone call before 5:45 a.m., and the weather seems inclement, be sure to utilize any of these other methods to verify the status of the school day. While SchoolMessenger is a very reliable system, no system is completely fail-safe, and so a variety of back-up measures are in place.-
ONLINE: Details regarding any delay, closure or early dismissal will be posted to the district's home page.
-
SOCIAL MEDIA: Details on the status of the school day will be posted to the district's Facebook page and Twitter feed.
-
TELEVISION: Information related to the status of Methacton's school day will be listed online and broadcast on CBS 3 Eyewitness News, WPVI Channel 6 Action News, and NBC 10 News school closing scrolls. These stations often also offer a text message sign-up, more information can often be found on their websites. Our school closing number is 316.
In the event that schools are closed during regular daytime hours due to inclement weather, all evening events, activities and Community Education Program classes will also be canceled.
