This astronomical “Tour de Force” was the leading presentation at the Hayden planetarium for over 25 years. Ted Williams, our planetarium director, is a presenter at the Hayden planetarium and brings this amazing night sky tour to our community. We will use the current constellations to find visible planets and deep space objects visible through the current season.
SEASONS OF LIGHT:
This holiday favorite started at Methacton as “’Tis the Season.” With our digital dome we have updated this classic presentation and renamed it with the updated title “Seasons of Light.” Did you ever wonder where certain holiday traditions come from? Why do we light up our homes? What is the significance of the Christmas tree, the holiday candle, what is a Menorah and why do we light’s candles night by night? Why do people kiss under the Mistletoe? What is significant about a seasonal wreath? Why do so many celebrations from cultures around the world take place on the shortest days of the year? This holiday favorite is suitable for families with younger children.
Weather permitting there will be public star viewing after the shows.
