June 3, 2024 - Scenes from a mural that once adorned the walls of a stairwell in the now-closed Audubon Elementary school have found a new home at Skyview Upper Elementary School. This project has not only preserved the legacy of the original artwork and the talent of its creators, but has also given it new life as a newly created piece of art for a new audience.
The original mural was painted by MHS students Kim Bowers and Leo Stadnik as part of their senior art project in 2009. To this day, the art inspires fond memories from all those who have seen it. The scenes, which depict the fun of recess at Audubon, were meticulously documented and enhanced to create a new piece of art. The preserved scenes serve as a reminder of the enduring value of art and the importance of showcasing our points of pride.
