Skyview Students Prepare Thankful Feast for Families and Staff

Ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday last week, Skyview students hosted a Thankful Feast for their families and staff.
In addition to a big turkey, the menu consisted of green bean casserole, homemade cranberry sauce, rolls, sweet potato casserole and pumpkin pie.
Lots of work went into planning for the luncheon. It all started with classroom activities to familiarize students with their responsibilities and a field trip to the grocery store. Students shopped for all the food, created the menus and placemats, rolled the utensils and so much more.
“They did everything from greeting the parents at the door, to working the ‘coat room’,” said Autistic Support teacher Mrs. Stacy McGowan. “We had a total of 18 guests share in our special day.”
