Elementary School Sending Area Boundaries Revised

 

The Methacton School District’s Board of School Directors approved the revised elementary sending area boundaries proposed during the March 21 special meeting of the Board. These revised boundaries, necessitated by the closing of Audubon Elementary School, will now be utilized in transition planning that will take place in preparation for the 2017-2018 school year.

 

Principal Melissa Gorla will be working with administrators, teachers, and parents as we move into this next phase of planning. As a first order of business, a more specific transition timeline, including milestones, will be provided for families during the week of March 27th. Included will be information regarding:

  • when families may expect to receive information about who your child’s classroom teacher will be next year;
  • special events planned for students who will be transitioning to a new school;
  • special events planned for the closure of Audubon Elementary School; and
  • more details about programming for the remaining elementary schools.

Building assignment letters will be sent to elementary school families containing information on the building assignments for 2017-2018 school term along with additional information about their building principal and who to direct questions to as transition planning continues.

 

In the interim, please continue to email general transition questions to information@methacton.org so that they may be addressed in a timely manner. Be sure to frequent the elementary school transition section of the website atwww.methacton.org/transition for important updates, and to review transition questions and answers that other families have submitted.
