PDE's Dr. Shirley Curl Visits Methacton School District
Dr. Shirley Curl, advisor for gifted education at the Pennsylvania Department of Education recently visited Arcola Intermediate School.
Members of the District's administration and faculty, including Superintendent Dr. Timothy J. Quinn, Acting Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction Diane Barrie, principals and gifted area teachers and coordinators of gifted instruction participated in a round-table discussion with Dr. Curl. The team shared information about how gifted education is structured in Methacton and outlined recently implemented and planned improvements to the ways in which Methacton meets the unique needs of gifted students.
Dr. Curl shared her perspectives and feedback on the direction of gifted instruction, and engaged the staff in a conversation aimed at
exploring ways to further improve the gifted student experience.
