Notification Information - School Closings, Delays, Early DismissalsModified Kindergarten Program Schedule
The Methacton School District utilizes the SchoolMessenger system of emergency notification in the event of a weather related school schedule change. In the event of a school closing, early dismissal or late arrival, you will be notified via the primary phone number the district has in our student accounting system, unless you edit your preferences within the SchoolMessenger Contact Manager. Click here for instructions on how to do this. PLEASE NOTE: In the event that you do not receive a phone call before 5:45 a.m., and the weather seems inclement, be sure to utilize any of these other methods to verify the status of the school day. While SchoolMessenger is a very reliable system, no system is completely fail-safe, and so a variety of back-up measures are in place. ONLINE: Details regarding any delay, closure or early dismissal will be posted to the district's home page.
E-MAIL and TEXT MESSAGE: You may register to the website to begin receiving e-alerts from the Methacton School District website - when school closings occur, you will receive an e-mail to the registered e-mail address, and a text message if you select that option. Individuals may create as many profiles as they like, in order to receive messages at multiple e-mail addresses.
RADIO AND TELEVISION: Tune to KYW Newsradio 1060 AM and listen for Methacton School District’s code number for snow and other emergency school closings, 316. You will also see this information listed online and broadcast on CBS 3 Eyewitness News, WPVI Channel 6 Action News, and NBC 10 News school closing scrolls. These stations may also offer a text message sign-up, more information can often be found on their websites.
- PHONE: Individuals may also call the district's newsline at 610-831-5331 to hear a recorded message updating the community on the status of the school day.
In the event that schools are closed during regular daytime hours due to inclement weather, all evening events, activities and Community Education Program classes will also be canceled.

Modified Kindergarten Schedule:
In the event of an early dismissal, A.M. Kindergarten students will be dismissed with all other elementary school students, and P.M. Kindergarten will be cancelled. Students who ride a bus to school will usually return home on the same bus on which they arrived. Students will be provided lunch, details can be obtained by calling your individual elementary school. If your morning Kindergarten student will be picked up by a YMCA care program or other day care center after school, please be certain that your elementary school is aware of these details.
