Meet the Chief Financial Officer
The Methacton School District's Board of School Directors appointed Stuart Whiteleather as Director of Business Services in November of 2012. Whiteleather joins Methacton from the Hamburg Area School District, where he has served as Business Manager since 2006. Prior to Hamburg, he served as Business Manager for the Catasauqua Area School District, and assistant business manager for the Haverford and Northampton Area school districts. While at Hamburg, Whiteleather was responsible for all financial and human resource operations; while overseeing the district's custodial, food services and technology departments. He is credited with reversing a general fund deficit that exceeded two million dollars, helping to create surpluses in each of the last six audited fiscal years. Whiteleather also oversaw a $27 million elementary school renovation project, a $4 million athletic facility and began work on an upcoming $22 million elementary project. He sought operational savings by streamlining payroll and vendor payment systems; while implementing creative strategies to auction surplus and obsolete supplies and equipment, generating revenue for his district. Whiteleather has also contributed to the successful negotiation of multiple contracts resulting in savings to his district. He obtained his master's degree in business administration from Walden University, where he is currently pursuing a doctorate of philosophy in public sector finance and administration. Whiteleather has also previously served as president of the mid-east region of the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials.
