 Meet the Acting Coord. of Curriculum and Instruction
Diane Barrie is the Acting Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction for the Methacton School District. Prior to this position, she was the K-12 Reading/Title 1 and K-8 English/ILA Coordinator after spending 14 years as a 7th grade English teacher at Arcola. She has served the district in many capacities: as the co-advisory for The Apollo, Arcola’s Literary Magazine, the 7th grade boys tennis coach, and high school girls’ tennis coach. She was the 2008 county winner of the Voice of Inspiration Award for middle school teachers, has presented at local and national conferences on teaching English and integrating technology, and is a former adjunct professor at Ursinus College as well as a facilitator for graduate courses for West Chester University. In addition to her position in Methacton, she also volunteers as a Co-Director and Technology Liaison for the Pennsylvania Writing and Literature Project at West Chester University.

 

Mrs. Barrie holds her Bachelor of Arts from Kutztown University, Teaching Certificate from Villanova University, Masters in Elementary Education from West Chester, and anticipates earning her Doctorate this year in Educational Leadership from Immaculata University. She lives with her husband, two children, and two adopted greyhounds.
