Dr. Timothy J. Quinn has served as superintendent of schools since May 1, 2008. Before joining Methacton, Dr. Quinn served as the superintendent of the Elizabethtown Area School District in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. Prior to that, he served as Assistant to the Superintendent in the Derry Township School District. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Wilkes University and the University of Scranton.
Dr. Quinn's background includes extensive experience in finance, human resources as well as construction management oversight.
He has provided instructional leadership in curriculum development and instructional methodologies and strategies, has coordinated strategic planning processes and steering committees, and facilitated the implementation of research-based literacy programs. In budget development, Dr. Quinn has worked with administrators to maintain the delicate and important balance between fiscal accountability and student achievement impact.
Dr. Quinn has presented extensively on the subjects of supervision, assessment, educational leadership, curriculum development, construction and best practices in instruction before such varied organizations as the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators, the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, and the Pennsylvania Middle School Association.
He has spoken at national conferences on Value Added Assessment as the invited guest of the Pennsylvania Department of Education. In addition, he has served on committees for the Pennsylvania Department of Education on state-wide PSSA Bias and the Pennsylvania Value Added Assessment System and has served as a grant reader. |
