I am a Music teacher at Methacton High School. I began to play the violin in third grade at Sharon Hill Elementary School in Delaware County, PA. There a unique program offered private lessons at school once each week! I studied violin year round with Frances Duthie until 8th grade.
 
I continued practicing and playing through junior high and high school with Mary H. Chase at Wyalusing Valley High School in North Central Pennsylvania.
 
I received my Bachelor of Music Education from Temple University, Philadelphia (magna cum laude) and studied with Larry Grika of the Philadelphia Orchestra. I studied with Carl Johnston while pursuing my Master of Music Education from VanderCook College of Music, Chicago. I am an active member of two professional organizations: PMEAand PADESTA.
 
As a graduate student I studied guitar with Michael Milesand Julie Goldberg at VanderCook College of Music.
 
I take at least one music course every summer. I have studied at Villanova University, Ohio State University, Rowan College of New Jersey, and Princeton. In the summer of 2004, I studied chamber music with Ameropa in Prague, Czech Republic. In the summer of 2006 I studied New England Fiddling in an apprenticeship with Dudley & Jacquelyn Laufman of Concord New Hampshire. I also attended a one week guitar workshop at MENC headquarters in 2006 where I got a Takamine acoustic guitar and lots of new ideas! In 2007 I attended a second guitar workshop in Las Vegas, sponsored by GAMA/NAMM and MENC.
 
Most recently, I've been selected to participate in a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Institute in Vienna Austria in June 2008! I'll be studying "Mozart's Worlds" with 25 other US teachers. Check back later for details!
 
I taught elementary and junior high orchestra in the Atlantic City Public Schools before becoming Orchestra Director for Methacton High School in 1997.
 
I currently teach String Orchestra, Full Orchestra, Guitar 1 and Guitar 2. I work closely with the other MSD string faculty to keep our orchestra program strong. I am also advisor for the MHS Tri-M Music Honor Society.
