Reading Olympics 2010-2011
If you are interested in participating on next year's Reading Olympics team, read the information on this page to see next year's selection of books as well as the expectations for team members.
Shelfari: Book reviews on your book blog

The goal of the Reading Olympics is to increase students' reading for enjoyment. Students collaborate with their teammates to read 45 books that have been selected by a committee of librarians, reading specialists, and classroom teachers. These professionals read the books and write questions which teams of students answer during the competition. This competition is held in April, where students square off against teams from other area high schools.

The Olympics are primarily a celebration of reading rather than a contest. All participants are awarded ribbons. Meetings will be held monthly in the library to discuss the books, and students are encouraged to quiz each other on the content, both online and at meetings.

Team Member Expectations:
The 2010 Reading Olympics competition was held on Tuesday, March 16 at Wissahickon High School. Our Methacton High School Teams participated and did wonderfully, receiving blue and red ribbons.
